Security is very important when using internet services, certainly when your data is involved. We connect our name to the protection of your data and we guarantee the confidentiality.

We have implemented all technical means to obtain this goal of security and confidentiality.

All data is protected with an encryption-key password that you create yourself. The encryption of data with this private key will take place on your computer, so always before transmission. During transmission and storage in our datacenters, this data is only blocks of unreadable data. When retrieved, the data is unencrypted locally to make it readable again.

But can no-one try to break the encryption and be able to read my data, you ask? Well, the AES encryption technique used is so strong it would take hundreds of years with the most powerful computers that exist today to do it. The same techniques are used by banks, governments, credit-card companies, armies, ... to protect sensitive information.

We store all data in two completely separated datacenters, independent from each other on different locations, each with a connection from a different internet-provider. (In practice the program connects to one datacenter. The received data is then copied from one datacenter to the other datacenter. In the unlikely event that one datacenter would fail, the Backup24 program will automatically connect to the other datacenter. All data and functionality is still available).

The connection for a backup is always initiated from the Backup24-program on your computer towards the datacenter. Never ever a connection will be made towards your computer for Backup24.

Data protection

AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) is used to encrypt all data before it leaves your computer. It is unreadable without the encryption-key that you created during installation.

Machines are located in enclosed areas, monitored by sensors and alarm-systems.

All visitors need to be announced upfront, and will have to identify themselves completely

All access to the computer-area is logged

Personnel needs to identify itself with badge and biometric scanning before gaining access

Emergency power-supplies (both batteries and generator) and redundant air-conditioning.
